Privacy Policy

When you make a purchase, we collect the following from you:

• Email address — so we can send you a confirmation and notify you if your state gets stolen (sorry in advance)
• Brand name, logo URL, tagline, and website link — because that's literally the product. It goes on the map, publicly.
• Payment information — collected and processed entirely by Polar. We never see your card number. Not even a little bit. We don't want that responsibility.

That's mostly it. We're not running a data brokerage. We're running a map.

We do not collect:

• Your location (unless you tell us)
• Your browsing history across other sites
• Your deepest fears
• Any biometric data whatsoever
• Data about your children (please don't let children buy states)

We use what we collect to:

• Display your brand on the map (the whole point)
• Send you transactional emails (purchase confirmed, state stolen, etc.)
• Prevent fraud and abuse
• Make the platform work as advertised

We do not sell your data. We do not rent your data. We do not trade your data for magic beans or VC funding.

We use a small number of third-party services to run this platform:

• Polar — Payment processing. Their privacy policy applies to data they collect.
• Supabase — Our database. Data is stored securely in the US.
• Vercel — Our hosting provider. They may collect basic server logs (IP addresses, request metadata).

No ad networks. No data brokers. No sketchy third parties. We promise.

We use the bare minimum of cookies required to make the site function. We are not tracking you across the internet to sell you sneakers. We are just trying to make a fun map.

Your browser's cookie settings are your friend. Use them however you like.

We keep your purchase records for as long as your placement is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and legal compliance. Your email is kept until you ask us to delete it.

If your state gets stolen and you have no active placement, your personal data is no longer needed for the product. Just email us and we'll delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or to data portability. If you'd like to exercise any of these rights:

This platform is not intended for users under 13. If you are under 13, please go outside and touch some grass instead. We mean that lovingly.

If we change this Privacy Policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top. We won't bury a data-selling clause in an update and hope you don't notice. That would be rude.
